Position Summary:

Sovah Health in Danville, VA, is seeking a full-time ED Technician under the supervision of an RN, to perform basic patient care

activities.

  • Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.

  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.

  • Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

  • Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.

Minimum Education:
  • High school graduate or GED.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Requires ability to read and write legibly and carry out directions promptly and accurately.
  • Must have good organizational skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently.
  • Must exhibit effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. It requires the ability to respond quickly and calmly during stressful or emergencies.
