- At least five years working as an editor. You must also be currently working as an editor at a newspaper, magazine, news show, or other outlet.
- A background that demonstrates you have worked on tight deadlines and can do work that is both excellent and fast.
- A passion for The Free Press: you've read our stories, you understand our mission, and you know just how you can bring value to our team.
- An ability to coach writers-especially writers just getting started in their careers-helping them deliver their best work.
- Eagerness to work in a start-up environment. You aren't just breaking news; you are building a newsroom. Our team is composed of people who are enthusiastic, nimble, and collaborative.

$150,000 - $200,000 a year Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of this range, taking into account experience.
