About This Role: As an editor in the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University, you will have the opportunity to shape impactful documents for diverse audiences, from scientific communities to the general public. In this role you will collaborate with authors, designers, and publishing team staff to edit, revise, and produce a wide variety of professional documents including research reports and other educational materials. You will provide strategic communications and marketing and brand management leadership for the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University. Proofread and edit a wide range of content, including research reports, educational materials, and other written material to ensure it is grammatically correct, free of errors, and is consistent with style and tone. Approach projects from a digital delivery perspective to maximize end-user access and subsequent content use. Responsible for quality control, production, and distribution of materials with respect to timelines and budgets. Work with printers to ensure delivery of properly built design files. Consult with clients on project expectations to reach intended audiences and create desired impact. Communicate to ensure projects meet client specifications. Remain current on new developments in technical writing, editing, and publishing for both digital and traditional formats, which may include technological enhancements. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager. Preferred Qualifications: Degree in English, journalism, or related field. Two years of editing experience. Knowledge or experience with production agriculture. Demonstrated excellent writing and editing skills. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated attention to detail to excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, or similar software.
