Through these partnerships, we share our commitment to lifelong learning and our belief in the power of play to underscore our common humanity.More information about the Department here.Position Purpose: Reporting to the Manager of Education and Community Programs, the Education and Community Programs Coordinator plays an integral role in the logistics of A.C.T.'s school and community programs, including data collection, onsite event support, and communication between team members and outside stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesCoordinating educational and community programs:
  • Co-leading the department's data collection, including maintaining spreadsheets with detailed information about classes, teachers, hours and attendance, including but not limited to data collection for the San Francisco Department of Children, Youth & Their Families
  • Communicating logistical details with teachers, teaching artists, schools, and A.C.T. staff
  • Processing weekly attendance and sending reminder emails to schools with missing information
  • Collecting and processing student evaluations and other data
  • On-site event support for programs including school exhibitions and student matinee performances, including supporting and collaborating with front-of-house staff, teaching artists and production team
  • Organizing food, space, and supplies for residencies and events, as well as processing receipts for all purchases
Additional administrative duties:
  • Attending weekly departmental staff meetings and various and A.C.T.-wide meetings
  • Taking accurate and efficient notes in meetings
  • Keeping the departmental Outlook calendar up to date with all departmental events, classes, and meetings
  • Additional support for school and community programs as needed
Required Experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in arts education and/or arts administration
  • Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills
  • General knowledge of professional theater
  • Strong organizational skills, as well as a strong understanding and proficiency with computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Comfort interacting with arts education professionals, students, artists, educators, arts leaders and administrators
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and strong time management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Desired Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in education, theater, nonprofit management, and/or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in teaching artistry and culturally responsive arts education, and/or, experience in stage management or production management
  • Experience working with underserved youth and diverse community members of all ages
  • Strong writing, public-speaking, presentation, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with the San Francisco Unified School District and/or the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families
  • Passion for the power of theater to help achieve personal transformation and social change
