We are a community of professionals dedicated to environmental responsibility and developing future leaders in the world of beauty and wellness.What You'll Do:
- Work in tandem with the Institute Director to provide guidance and coaching to all educators in the Institute and implement State compliance standards while maintaining the highest rate of positive outcomes for graduation rate, state board licensure, and placement in a qualified career.
- Oversee classroom education is compliant with NACCAS and state board regulations
- Create and implement a training schedule for educators and provide ongoing professional development in the areas of soft skills, technical skills, and top tier presentation skills.
- Act as the Manager on Duty in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director
- Provide ongoing recognition, support, and motivation for all Institute team members and students
- Partner with Educators and the Educator Trainer to develop action plans to ensure productivity and positive experiences in the student salon/spa is maximized
- Conduct ongoing technical assessment of Educators and implement training needs with the Educator Trainer & Student Mentor and Institute Director
- Oversee classroom education and quality of the student experience and foster strong partnership with the Professional Development team to ensure proper student management of attendance, performance coaching, etc. in order to improve the student experience, student retention, and graduation metrics
- Facilitate and lead regularly scheduled meetings, huddles, and one-on-ones with team members and attend leadership meetings as required
- Work closely with the Institute Director to facilitate effective recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes, including but not limited to communicating staffing needs, conducting interviews, training new hires, coaching team members, and following appropriate disciplinary and termination procedures
- Maintain an active oversight of the Instructor Training Program, ensuring compliance between the curriculum and state board requirements
- Assist in training educators in lesson planning, Aveda and Pivot Point's curriculum and presentation and classroom management skills
- Effectively implement and sustain Aveda curriculum initiatives in course curriculum and service cycle in the student salon/spa
Who You Are:
- Exhibit the ability to identify and achieve goals, execute decisions, and work under strict deadlines
- Possess strong leadership skills and experience
- Ideally have a background as a Cosmetologist or Esthetician
- Experience as a Education Manager or like role preferred
- Should have sufficient educational experience, post-secondary tech school preferred
- Should be comfortable providing strategy and guidance for beauty education
What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid state issued Cosmetology or Esthetics License and maintain continuing education
- Minimum of 4 years' continuous instruction experience in a salon or spa required
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Demonstrate extreme professionalism and confidentiality in manner, dress, and conduct
- Ability to travel locally to events and for out-of-state training and events as necessary.
