Education Support Specialist Job Details Level Experienced Job Location Flourtown Campus - Flourtown, PA Position Type Full Time Education Level Bachelor Degree Travel Percentage Negligible Job Shift Day Job Category Nonprofit - Social Services Description We are seeking an Education Support Specialist (ESS) to provide assistance to the classroom teacher and facilitate pupil instruction. This staff member will provide necessary instruction, behavior management, and individual attention to pupils. The ESS is monitored by the teacher in charge of the class, who, with their supervisor, reviews the work through observation and conferences.
**Responsibilities:**
Assist teacher with the following:
* individual and group instruction and daily lesson assignments
* establishing instructional goals and objectives; testing and evaluating student programs
* various phases of behavior modification and classroom management programs
* Ability to instruct students in an effective manner
* Assumes responsibility for the class and instructional activities in the teachers absence
* Monitors students during non-instructional activities during the school day (example: lunch & recess duty, etc.)

**Requirements:**
* Some knowledge of the general principles of learning and child development as they apply to the exceptional child. This position works with at-risk youth.
* Bachelors Degree, in Education, Human Services, or related field
**Experience:**
* Classroom instruction or educational assistance, 1 year preferred
