We are seeking an Educational Activity Support Professional (EASP) to work in our IDD program in Brooks County, Georgia. Under general supervision, Educational Activity Support Professionals provide training and support services to persons with developmental disabilities in a program which includes employment and community support. Must be able to work independently and maintain accurate, current Medicaid waiver records, which includes composing narrative statements for billing purposes. Creates activities and develops educational lesson plans. Provide transportation for consumers in agency vehicles to access community resources and other activities. Maintains good communication with individuals and family. Initiates educational training for adults. Performs routine sanitizing of environment and other duties as assigned in order to maintain safety regulations for CARF. Assist with coordinating transportation needs for consumers. Teamwork with other staff to provide the highest quality IDD services to consumers is essential. Computer skills are required.Benefits:

This position requires:
- High School Diploma or GED; required; BS preferred.
- One year of experience providing care for developmentally disabled persons or 6 months of experience providing social, direct care, or work activities to groups of special needs individuals or completion of three college-level courses in the area of special education, physical disabilities, and psychology; preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good record-keeping skills
- Must have a valid Georgia driver's license
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified or able to obtain certification. Must be physically able to perform CPR.
- Internet navigational skills, accurate typing skills, and other basic computer knowledge: preferred
- Ability to facilitate group activities in the center and community
- Ideal candidates will be highly motivated and energized with a passion for engaging with individuals on identifying goals and creating activities and educational experiences to achieve those goals. Candidate will take the initiative to plan community and educational activities that provide a meaningful life. May be responsible for facilitating group activities in the center and community.
