Job Description:

The Educational Diagnostician assesses and diagnoses the learning problems of students. The Educational Diagnosticians works within the scope of a multidisciplinary team of professionals to make decisions regarding the placement and support of students with learning disabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Works within the scope of a multidisciplinary team to assess students, plans a course of action and monitors the progress of a student within the school system

+ Receives student referrals and evaluates within the appropriate timelines established by the school district

+ Assists in the selection of evaluation materials and equipment maintenance

+ Uses course of action determined by the team to implement and track the program developed by the multidisciplinary team

+ Collects data from student folders, teachers, support staff, parents, and any other outside personnel involved in the program

+ Evaluates the assessment program and implements changes as needed

+ Completes reports and evaluation logs as required by the school district and state/federal guidelines

+ Communicates with parents, teachers, and staff on progress of the student

+ Remains informed regarding state and federal guidelines as it relates to special education

+ Plans, develops, and implements training for school district staff and teachers

+ Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

+ Masters Degree preferred

+ Teaching experience preferred

+ Certification as required by State and/or contract Regulations

+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

+ Participation and completion of Amergis Competency program when applicable

+ Current CPR if applicable

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

+ Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

+ Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

+ Computer proficiency required

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
