Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
The Environmental Health Supervisor for the Food, Lodging and Institutions (FLI) will perform routine sanitation inspections and enforce state environmental health laws and regulations which are mandated for the county to perform. The EH Supervisor will also work in the Childcare and School Sanitation (CCSS) program supervising authorized staff and performing routine inspections.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Perform routine sanitation inspections for FLI/CCSS programs
* Assist with facility plan reviews
* Work with FLI team lead to conduct QA assessments for staff
* Assist with interpretation of rules, regulations, and best practices
* Problem solve/consult with staff
* Permitting of facilities
Education/Experience: Graduation from a four-year college or university with 30 semester hours of course work in the physical, biological or health sciences; or Master's degree in Environmental Health from a program accredited by the National Accreditation Council for Environmental Health Curricula of the National Environmental Health Association. Current REHS, Authorizations held in FLI, CCSS. At least 5 years of experience in Environmental Health. Supervisory experience preferred.
License: Valid NC driver's license (driving record suitable for driving Cabarrus Health Alliance owned vehicles). Must maintain registration as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist by the NC Board of Registered Environmental Health Specialist Examiners.

* Must be skilled in gathering, consolidating, analyzing and evaluating facts to arrive at conclusions and develop recommended actions
* Ability to communicate orally and in writing the policies and regulations dealing with environmental protection
* Possess ability to communicate orally and in writing to a variety of people, answering questions and explaining information or decisions
* Must be able to write investigative or narrative reports
* Ability to obtain cooperation from public and private sector personnel
* Accurately create, maintain and use files and public records
