Overall description: Croda's Atlas Point manufacturing facility is seeking an Environmental Specialist/Engineer (SHE Advisor). This position provides technical assistance for Croda's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to support operations, laboratory, and maintenance functions, including related construction projects. The primary objectives are to ensure site operations are compliant with federal, state environmental regulations, to protect and enhance the safety and health of employees, and contractors, and achieve best-in-class EHS performance.You will also develop and implement programs/operational processes that enable the Site to identify, assess, manage, and control environmental operational hazards/risks and relevant costs. Key Duties: •Environmental, Health, Safety and Regulatory Guidance and Management •Shared ownership of driving and implementing environmental compliance activities, initiatives, and performance. •Reinforce and support a culture where environment, health and safety are ingrained as core values with all employees and where everyone is actively engaged in working safely and preventing at-risk behaviors. •Identify and understand appropriate EHS regulations, corporate EHS requirements, and participate in compliance-gap analysis. •Maintain facility conditions in preparation for announced & unannounced compliance inspections and audits by outside regulatory authorities and agencies. Experience & Education required: •Bachelor's degree in: Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Science or an Associate's degree with 2+ years of experience. •Excellent computer, communication, and training skills. •Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, organizational skills, attention to detail and exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative. Additional Position Requirements: •Prepare reports and maintain records. Collect data to produce trends and metrics. •Complies with all company and site policies and procedures. •Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by strong leadership and problem-solving skills. •Operate effectively with multiple tasks in a busy environment, meeting challenging deadlines. •A high level of initiative and motivation as well as being an enthusiastic team player. •Making suggestions for improvement. •Learning new skills, procedures, and processes. •Is available for other duties as required. Physical requirements: •Able to walk, stand, or sit for a minimum of 8 hours per day. •Required to move throughout construction and production areas on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders and be exposed to outside temperatures and weather. •Able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
