SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The EHS (Environmental, Health, Safety) and Facilities Supervisor plays a vital role in managing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the facilities, as well as providing EHS program execution for PPE's Brenham, Texas manufacturing site. The job ensures a safe, secure, and efficient facility for PPE's team members, vendors, and visitors. The EHS and Facilities Supervisor will oversee the maintenance, operation, and repairs of the facility and equipment, enforce safety measures and programs, and manage a team of maintenance personnel. REPORTING TO: Director of Operations DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Safety:

  • Establish, update, and administer EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure ongoing effectiveness and compliance, including managing and executing trainings and training programs.
  • Ensure business is complying with federal, state, and local safety regulations by keeping abreast of existing and new legislation, interpreting standards, enforcing adherence to regulation and advising management on needed actions; responsible for all related record-keeping requirements
  • Maintains PPE's Emergency Action Program, including fulfilling the role of first point of contact during an emergency event, scheduling and executing all drills and training associated with the plan
  • Investigate incidents, drive to root cause, and develop plans to prevent future occurrences
  • Lead hazard assessment processes, including JHA, ergonomic and PPE assessments. Educates engineering, maintenance, and production in conducting and updating assessments and associated improvements.
  • Administer and conduct periodic EHS compliance layered process audits of operations in coordination with local managers and prepare associated corrective action plans; provide guidance and support in connection with audit findings; and assist in tracking audit findings to resolution.
  • Manage and ensure the Company's EHS data collection systems are in place and reported into the PPE reporting system. As part of this, lead the development, maintenance, and communication of EHS metrics as required.
  • Provide periodic written reports on EHS results and EHS updates to management to apprise leaders of progress and any critical issues.
  • Identify, implement, and manage appropriate environmental and sustainability programs in conjunction with the corporate ESG team..
  • Provide management with guidance on short- and long-term safety strategies to reduce incident frequency and severity. This includes recommendation on metric tracking, safety initiatives, enhanced employee engagement, and effective communication strategies.
  • Conduct EHS onboarding for new employees.
  • Conduct EHS awareness training for outside contractors and/or visitors.
  • Responsible for Worker's Compensation education and case management in coordination with IDEX Corporate and our Worker's Comp provider.
Facilities :
  • Oversee the daily operation of facility equipment and systems
  • Leads a team of 2 maintenance employees; responsible for their work schedule, performance management, and departmental key performance indicators
  • Responsible for coordinating repairs for building, grounds, and equipment
  • Manages inventory and budgets of supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective solutions, and overseeing contractors
  • Inspect facilities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate facility records and prepare reports for management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EHS Programs, including incident investigation, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, material handling safety, machine guarding, and permitting for air and wastewater.
  • Certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, ALCM, OSHA 501-GIS or similar a plus.
  • Experience with 5S and continuous improvement processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated communication skills to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to build trust and work collaboratively across functions and departments
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Previous experience with clean room environments a plus, but not required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • BS Degree or 5+ years of hands on experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in a supervisory position required
  • 3+ years' experience in a machine intensive manufacturing environment preferred

  • Role requires climbing ladders of 15 ft.
Work Environment:
  • Climate-controlled office/factory environment.
  • Noise exposure is moderate.
