We recognize that the expertise of our staff is our strongest asset, so we generously reward employees for successful performance and invest in their careers through training and the development of new skills and certifications.OverviewTRC is currently seeking an EHS Compliance Specialist/Assistant Project Manager to join our growing EHS Services, Multi-Media Compliance Practice reporting to our Irvine or Los Angeles office.The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental consulting and compliance focused on industry compliance with environmental, health and safety regulatory programs including, air, hazardous materials, hazardous and solid waste, water quality, wastewater, storm water, and other environmental compliance regulations. Experience with ISO 14001/9001/45001 management systems is highly desired. The successful candidate will be a self-starter able to work both independently and as a member of a team, to build on TRC's EHS and Multi-Media Compliance practice.Responsibilities
- Provide multi-media EHS compliance support to a wide variety of industrial, municipal, commercial, and transportation clients, including conducting EHS compliance audits, developing SPCC and SWPPP plans, preparing Tier II and TRI reports, developing EHS programs and procedures, providing training, and ISO program implementation.
- Prepare regulatory summaries.
- Participate in meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.
- Perform field visits at residential, commercial, and industrial sites to conduct observations, collect data, take photos, perform inspections, and complete checklists in association with Environmental Site Assessments.
- On-site support at various client locations.
- Perform project management support including schedule, budget, invoicing, project resources, and deliverables.
- Client outreach, development, and management.
- Proposal writing.Qualifications
- Have knowledge of air quality, storm water, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, soil and groundwater sampling.
- Have knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations, policies, ordinances, rules, and permit conditions.
- Willing to perform duties both in an office and in the field.
- Project management experience with drafting scope and cost estimates for proposals; managing project financials, invoicing, and managing schedules and project resources.
- Strong oral and written communication/interpersonal skills and professional and team-oriented work environment.
- Strong MS Office Suite skills.Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., planning, geology, engineering, biology, chemistry, environmental science).
- 5 to 10 years of environmental consulting experience. Educational experience will be considered.
- Willing to travel for project work up to 20% time.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, including current annual refresher (preferred).
- Candidates with their PE (Professional Engineer), PG (Professional Geologist), CHMM or QISP/QSD certifications is preferred.Benefits: TRC offers a competitive benefit package consisting of:
