- Keep them in line with environmental and safety laws (think Clean Air Act, OSHA, etc.).
- Develop and update safety policies and programs.
- Lead inspections, track records, and dive into accident investigations.
- Identify hazards and fix them before they become issues.
- Run training sessions on all things safety.
- Manage workers' compensation and the safety committee.
- Handle site security and waste management.
- Make sure they have all the necessary permits and keep them up to date.
Supervisory Role
- Oversee a team of 5 specialists/trainers.
What You Need
- WE ARE ONLY SEEKING CANDIDATES THAT HAVE WORKED IN A SAFETY SPECIFIC ROLE WITHIN MFG.
- Experience in EHS roles (consultant, coordinator, etc.) preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment
- A degree or relevant experience.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Knowledge of environmental, safety, and health standards.
Reports You'll Prepare
- Regulatory and management reports, OSHA logs, incident reports, and training documentation.
Decision-Making Power
- You can halt operations if safety's at risk.
Physical Demands
- Be ready to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Moderate noise and occasional exposure to fumes or moving parts—safety gear required.
Travel
- Occasional travel to other facilities might be needed.
