Job Description:
Our client is North America's premier manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions. They manufacture mill finish, anodized, painted and thermally broken aluminum extrusions. Our press size ranges from 1,550 to 5,500-tons.This is a leadership position that requires the incumbent to have a high degree of comfort engaging directly and often with individuals at all levels within the plant and inside and outside. It also requires effective sourcing and utilization of resources (employees and external experts, equipment, materials) to achieve environmental compliance. You will lead the development and improvement of the environmental management system to meet ISO14001 standards, and continue educational self-development through leadership, technical and Six Sigma training.What you'll be responsible for:- All plant safety and environmental operations and compliance on a 24/7 basis- Maintaining and improving an environmental management system (ISO14001) at the plant level which ensures compliance with or exceeds the requirements of environmental laws, regulations, policies, and guidance documents- Managing environmental demands with manufacturing demands (costs, productivity, environmental compliance, quality requirements; safety and sense of urgency)- The conservation of resources and reuse/recycling of waste to control costs and minimizing and eliminating waste streams and emissions- Achieving goodwill with employees, the community, and regulatory environmental groups- Managing waste streams and chemical inventory- Providing environmental compliance direction to10-25 salaried employees150-400 hourly employees- Assisting the Division EHS Director in establishing strategic safety and environmental direction; and crafting and implementing safety and environmental policies and procedures that support the client's short- and long-term objectives- Developing and communicating the environmental policies and procedures for the Niles plant- Ensuring consistency in tone and focus for safety and environmental systems in alignment with other plantsCompetitive salary, relocation assistance, employee benefits; paid vacation, medical, dental, vision, life, and a 401k.
