Job Description:
Title: EHS SpecialistLocation: Fort Madison, IA Duration: 0-6+ Months Shift: 1st Shift (7:00am - 3:30pm M-F)Pay Rate: $30.00/Hour on W2. Responsibilities:Oversee HSE Ambassador program.Oversee the onsite stretch/ergonomics program. Working directly with our third-party consultants.Track and lead the annual HSE Strategies for the plant to ensure it is aligned with the global strategies. Continuously provide input to the strategy.Track and lead campaigns to meet the HSE Targets and Objectives for the plant. Also support the management team.Trained as a backup for environmental permits to ensure compliance and on time reporting. Environmental permits include but not limited to Title V, Wastewater, RCRA-Large Quantity Waste Supplier, SPCC and SWPPP.Prepare and communicate the HSE Monthly Scorecard to the Management team.Participate and provide daily plant updates to the management team.Establish, track, and report the HSE Incidents utilizing the reporting tool. Participating in all accident investigations.Ensures all injuries and near misses are analysed for trends and that corrective actions are implemented.Manage all workers compensation claims.Plan, initiate and coordinate continuous improvement of new/revised HSE programs and initiatives.Ensure SGRE maintains the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certifications. These certifications are required by nearly all customers.Implement control measures from top environmental health and safety aspects and legal requirement check e.g. waste management, prohibited substances, environmental impact etc.Work closely with Facilities, Contractors, and Security Teams to provide insight and guidance on Health and Safety matters.Promote other cross functional initiatives that foster a world class Health and Safety culture and standards.Professionally lead Regulatory inspections.Provide all plant general awareness training to the team from creation to delivery.Schedule all third-party trainings (i.e., 1st Aid/CPR, fire extinguisher)Plan, coordinate & oversee annual plant safety day event that engages all employees to participate. Qualifications:5 years or more of successful experience in the Health, Safety and Environmental field.Strong communication and presentation skills (must be able to present effectively to executive management)Excellent computer literacy skills in all Microsoft Office products and PowerPointStrong organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities.Advocate for Zero Harm Safety Culture with ability to influence decisions and actions within the management team to ensure Safety being a prerequisite.Knowledge about OSHA, ISO regulations & ANSI standards.Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
