Job Description:
Solenis is hiring an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our corporate team. Reporting to the Corporate EHS Manager - Americas, this role will work with and partner with the team to support our field associates and manufacturing facilities. The EHS Specialist will assist and oversee implementing environmental, health, and safety programs, procedures, and best practice techniques, implement new procedures to comply with regulatory requirements, and provide control measures that reduce or eliminate risks to our team members.Some of the things you will do:Meet Solenis' primary goal of providing a safe and sustainable working environment for our employees.Travel to relevant customer locations and field locations to provide support on day-to-day activities.Conduct incident investigations to identify causes and corrective actions and observations/audits of personnel, tools, equipment, and work practices to assure safe and proper procedures are being observed.Identify, evaluate, and make recommendations on programs, practices, tools, and equipment aimed at reducing or eliminating risk for our teammates.Develop and conduct safety training and presentations for new hires or refresher training.Provide guidance and technical expertise to ensure compliance with EHS regulations including governmental, state, industry, and Solenis. This includes monitoring and sharing information regarding new regulations.Develop SOPs for routine and non-routine work, compliance with the major regulatory programs, and safety contingency plans including RCRA, EPA, Clean Water Act, OSHA & safety contingency plans.Evaluate systems & implement projects to meet the requirements of wastewater and air quality permits.Develop & implement systems & processes to ensure training is timely & effective, incident investigations are timely & complete, audits are regularly scheduled & observations resolved.Experience managing internal/external audits and good working knowledge of EPA, PSM/RMP, MOC, OSHA, NFPA, and/or related regulations.Location:Remote preferred location Southwest, West and close to major airport (WA, OR, Northern CA, NE, UT, ID, MT, WY).Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in science, safety, engineering, environmental, or related discipline.8 years related experience with 2 years in EHS role in a chemical manufacturing environment or relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications:Water treatment, pulp/paper, food/beverage, oil/gas, hospitality industries, and waste management experience.Experience developing and delivering training programs.Excellent verbal & written communication, project management, and training skills.We understand that candidates will not meet every single desired qualification.
