Location: Sault Sainte Marie,MI, USA
Under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Director, through on the job training and knowledge the technician is mainly responsible for technical and patient care functions related to cardiology such as EKGs, holter monitors, stress testing, and EEG. Provides necessary clerical support to ensure timely and accurate scheduling, charging, logging, copying, distribution and retention of testing data. May be responsible for cross training to other areas of Cardiology Services.
Responsibilities:QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Applicant must obtain national certification in EKG within two years of being awarded the position; preference will be given to applicants who already have national EKG certification.
3. Previous experience in Cardiology preferred.
4. BCLS required.
5. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people.
6. Must have the ability to work independently and prioritize workflow.
7. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
8. Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
9. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
10. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
11. Required lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds.
12. Must keep patients safe.
