Definition of Class

* Under direction, performs clerical work relating to the registering of voters; processing of absentee mail-in ballots; answering questions and finding information for voters and candidates; assists in administration of Election Day activities. Receives direct detailed instruction for routine repetitive work that is described in procedural rules. May need to oversee work of per diems. Work is verified upon completion.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Processes and verifies new registrations, and changes, processes absentee/mail-in ballots applications, assists with voter mailings; candidate reports as needed. Maintains Pennsylvania Registry of Voters through daily interactions with the public in person and on the phone.

* Assists election supply replenishing and/or updating materials contained in election supply bags. Demonstrate knowledge of County voting system and basic tenets of Pennsylvania Election Law. Demonstrate patience and skill in solving issues for voters and assisting in all ways required so voters may vote in person or by mail. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

* Must possess or obtain better than average data entry skills, which is the basis for the majority of all required work. Must possess or obtain working knowledge of State Voter Registration Computer System used by County Office. Must possess or obtain basic knowledge of Voter Registration/ Election laws. Possess ability to follow oral and written instruction, work with others and the public in a tactful and courteous manner, and give great attention to detail. Must maintain ability to work under daily, monthly and yearly deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED with Business Curriculum, and 1 year of office/data entry experience

* Must be able to Type a Minimum of 50 Words Per Minute with Accuracy

* Advanced Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office

* Must complete an aptitude test, evaluating the ability to complete data entry under a strict deadline.
