Job Description
Collin County is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Elections Administrator. This position is responsible for managing the Collin County Elections department in such a manner as to ensure elections are conducted in accordance with all applicable codes and legislation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing, planning and administering functions related to voter registration, elections preparation, ballot preparation, location evaluation, elections staffing, managing expenditures and budget, and other areas as required. Administers personnel matters which include hiring, termination, employee evaluations, disciplinary actions, and other personnel items as required. This position is also responsible for effectively communicating with and maintaining good working relationships with various persons and organizations both within Collin County and at other agencies.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible managerial experience, including four (4) years of experience in an elections-related area, or an acceptable combination of education and experience, are required. Certified Elections Registration Administrator (CERA) preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver's license.
Candidate must be a registered voter of the state (per Texas Election Code 31.034) and may not be a candidate for a public office or an office of a political party, hold a public office, or hold an office of or position in a political party (per Texas Election Code 31.035).
APPOINTMENT OF POSITION:
The position of County Elections Administrator is filled by appointment of the County Election Commission in accordance with Section 31.031 - 31.038, of the Texas Election Code.
