Job DetailsLevelEntryJob LocationDEMCO LA - Greenwell Springs, LAPosition TypeFull TimeEducation LevelNot SpecifiedJob ShiftDayJOB DESCRIPTIONTexas Meter & Device is hiring several full time electric meter technicians in the Greenwell Springs/Greater Baton Rouge, LA area.Technicians must reside in the area as there is no per diem or relocation assistance associated with these positions.We will train you but you must have mechanical aptitude to be successful!Classroom and Field training rate is $18.00 /hrAfter successful completion of training, pay will move to being based on production - with no cap!Technicians have the ability to make $135-$200/day ***OR MORE *** based on production. It's totally up to you!Generally, the positions will be full-time, long term temporary as the project is expected to last approximately 18 months - 2 years. However, for those candidates that join the team and perfect their skills, there could be additional opportunities with the company.Project is currently underway.Under the general direction of the Project Manager and/or Field Supervisor, the Electric Meter Technician will be exchanging residential class electric meters.Responsibilities include:•Will exchange residential and commercial class electric meters•Use a work order management system to capture site data•Maintain accurate records of work completed•Oversee the materials, equipment, vehicle and tools•Keep track of new and used inventory•Proper use of an iPad to collect new meter data•Manages daily client communications, data and reporting•Coordinates scheduling and meets quality / quantity requirements•Provide courteous and excellent internal and external customer service•Other duties and tasks as assigned or necessaryRequirements:•Mechanical aptitude is necessary•Ability to use hand held device and other equipment as required for the position•Ability to work with minimal supervision•Ability to stand on feet, bend or stoop for a prolonged period of time. The work is performed outdoors and through inclement weather as necessary•Ability to carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner•Stable Multi-year Work History•Attention to Detail•Dependability and Reliability•Previous electrical experience preferred but not required•Good Communication Skills (speaking, reading and writing)•Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record•Must be a minimum of 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience due to insurance requirements•Must have work boots•Must have own personal Smart phone•Additional Requirements: Background check clearance including drug screening and I-9 documentation as required by lawShift and Pay Info:Classroom and Field training rate $18.00 /hrAfter start and successful completion of training (Usually 12-14 days), pay will move to being based on production - with no cap! Technicians have the ability to make $135-$200/day ***OR MORE *** based on production. It's totally up to you!End of Project Bonus - possible at the completion of the project based on :SafetyQualityProductionAttendanceMonday - Friday, with possible Saturday work required at timesWork hours are 8 hours between 7am - 5pm...Typically 7:00am to 4:00pm with a mandatory 1 hour lunch
