Electric Motor Testing Post-Doctoral Associate

Wright is looking for a new graduate with a PhD in electric motor design to join our team for testing during January-June of 2025.



Because Wright is a small company, employees are asked to wear many hats. You will work closely with mechanical and power electronics engineers to test the motor that Wright has been developing. The ideal candidate is assertive, pragmatic, hands-on, with excellent communication skills.

Requirements for this position include:

Required:

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering is suggested, but all experienced candidates are encouraged to apply
• Experience with supporting testing and test-plan development
• Experience with support selection/specification of components such as electrical cable, wiring and related instrumentation, measuring, and monitoring equipment.
• Capable of owning tasks from beginning to end

Desired:

• Experience with power electronics and controls.
• Previous experience designing permanent magnet motors and high frequency magnetics.

Full-time, temporary, direct-hire position.

Location:

This position is located in the United States in Malta, NY. Testing will take place at an off-site location in Ohio for much of the period. On-site presence is required.
