Position Summary:
As an Electric Powertrain Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and optimization of battery-powered and hybrid powertrain systems. You will collaborate with OEMs, conduct simulations, and ensure compliance with industry standards while supporting the design and implementation of cutting-edge electric powertrain technologies
Job Functions:
Specification Development:
* Collaboration with OEMs: Work closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to develop comprehensive system specifications for battery-powered and hybrid applications based on customer requirements.
* Component Identification: Identify and specify electrical components for battery electric and hybrid powertrain systems, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer needs.
* Simulation Development: Create and validate simulation models of software and electric powertrain components to support component selection and system optimization.
* Powertrain Configuration Simulations: Conduct simulations on various powertrain configurations, including full electric, series hybrid, and parallel hybrid systems, to evaluate performance and efficiency.
* Prototype Sourcing Support: Assist in sourcing decisions for prototypes of powertrain systems in hybrid and battery electric vehicles, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.
* Vendor Communication: Liaise with electrical component vendors and customer engineering teams to ensure product suitability and facilitate successful implementation.
* Testing and Analysis: Perform testing and engineering analysis of e-Product systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and use findings to enhance simulation models.
* Sales Training: Provide training to sales personnel on product usage, specifications, and benefits to enhance customer engagement and understanding.
* Electrical System Development: Develop and troubleshoot electrical systems for engines, Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
* Technical Presentations: Prepare and deliver technical presentations to prospective and existing YANMAR e-Powertrain OEMs, showcasing product capabilities and innovations.
* Documentation Maintenance: Maintain thorough documentation to support and track ongoing projects, ensuring all engineering processes are well-documented and accessible.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 24% annually
* Familiarity with manufacturing techniques
* Detailed knowledge of vehicle control systems
* Experience using MATLAB/Simulink for control development, system modeling, and simulations
* Experience in developing control algorithms
* Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively present materials to customers in-person or in online meetings
* Familiarity with electrical design standards and regulatory requirements for low and high voltage systems
* Experience with complete battery electric and/or hybrid systems, including motor selection, battery, and controls
* Strong Microsoft Office skills (PPT, Word, Excel)
* Ability to work 8+ hours per day in a plant/office setting, including the ability to navigate all areas of the building and facility as needed
* May occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds in an office, customer, or similar setting

Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or control systems engineering
* Minimum of 2+ years of engineering experience in the Electric or Hybrid Vehicle related field
* Experience with complete battery electric and/or hybrid systems, including motor selection, battery, and controls
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, with the ability to create PowerPoint summaries
* This position is full-time and based in Adairsville, GA.
