JOB FUNCTION:
The Electrical and Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical and
control systems on equipment and machinery. This role involves installing, programming, and maintaining various
automation systems, ensuring that production runs smoothly with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and control devices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education:
a. Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics, Automation, or
a related field.
b. Relevant certifications (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, Certified Automation Professional) are a
plus.
2. Experience:
a. 3+ years of experience in electrical and controls maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in an
industrial or manufacturing setting.
b. Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, VFDs,
sensors, and control systems.
3. Technical Skills:
a. Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, schematics, and control circuits.
b. Proficient in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modifications.
c. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
d. Familiarity with safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations) and electrical codes.
4. Soft Skills:
a. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
b. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
c. Good communication skills and ability to document work clearly.
d. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
2. Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or in environments with exposure to varying
temperatures.
3. Ability to stand, walk, or crouch for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
1. Industrial or manufacturing environment in the Gulf Coast Region.
2. May require working in shifts or during weekends/holidays.
