Job Description:
This position reports to the Lead Electrician. In this role, the Electrical Apprentice shall work under the supervision of the Lead Electrician to learn and develop their skills in the electrical trade. Responsibilities and Essential Duties: Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: Assist the Lead Electrician with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. Assist the Lead Electrician by reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Learn to perform the following electrical duties under the guidance of the Lead Electrician: pulling wire, running cable trays, installing panels, installing J boxes, wiring switches and outlets, and installing light fixtures. Repair or replace wiring equipment or fixtures using hand or power tools under the guidance of the Lead Electrician. Gain a working knowledge of all testing devices. Perform accurate and timely administrative duties to include time accounting and work order completion. Wear all necessary PPE as outlined in Company Safety Manual and maintain safety conscious worksite. Work with personnel in a team-oriented environment. Qualifications and Other Skills and Abilities: High School Diploma/GED with a strong interest in the electrical trade. Basic understanding of electrical concepts. Excellent problem resolution skills. Ability to be flexible with tasks on hand, multi-task, and prioritize. Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and work safely with minimal instructions. Must have OSHA 10 training (provided) Essential Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to work in an environment which may include fumes, odors, chemicals, sawdust, and ash. Ability to work in an environment with noises in the range of thirty to eighty five decibels. Ability to lift or push up to thirty (30) pounds, or in excess thereof, with the use of proper equipment or assistance. Ability to use hand tools safely. Ability to use electric tools safely. Ability to walk up and down steps, climb ladders, staging and scaffolding and on uneven ground. Ability to bend, twist, reach, stretch and work in tight spaces. Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
