Electrical Apprentice
Department: 208/Construction Maintenance Exempt:NoReports To: Master Electrician Pay Grade/Wage:$15.00/hrPosition Type: Full-Time Hours:40 hrs/weekJob Summary:This position performs a variety of skilled and semiskilled manual tasks at the Apprentice level in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, instrumentation and control equipment. Work is performed under the general direction of the Master Electrician, or the Journeyman electrician. Duties may involve the use of trade tools and the operation of light construction equipment. Work is performed under the supervision of the Master Electrician.Job Description:DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSAn individual who has not been through an Electrical Apprentice Program, or has not had time in the Electrical Field, must be willing to enroll in an Electrical Apprenticeship Program. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an U.S. Department of Education accredited institution is required.An equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered for minimum requirements except for licensure/certification requirements.LICENSES AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.Must be First Aid and CPR/AED certified or get certified within six (6) months of hire.PREFERRED SKILLS AND LICENSES: Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida CDL class “B” motor vehicles operator's license or higher with Air Break and Tanker Endorsements and an acceptable driving record is preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT/ADA: This job requires walking, standing, pushing, bending, stooping, equipment operation and driving. The employee will work outside in various weather conditions.
