What you will do:
- As an Electrical Assistant, you will play a key role in connecting communities with essential services by installing, maintaining, and repairing cables, equipment, and infrastructure.
- You will collaborate with a skilled team to execute construction projects that enhance the performance of our fiber optic network.
- This role requires adaptability, as you will work in varying weather conditions, including hot summers, cold winters, and across diverse terrains.
- You will assist with the preparation of electronic cabinets and related components in the shop, ensuring they are ready for field distribution.
- Additionally, you will help maintain shop inventory used in cabinet preparation and perform other assigned in-house tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working in underground construction of fiber optics communication lines.
- Proven experience in single phase electrical circuits and wiring. Including some DC electronic circuits and underground conduit installation.
- Familiarity with NEC
- Ability to draw basic plans for clarification.
- Basic knowledge of commercial construction techniques, including excavating assistance and property restoration.
- Ability to travel for work. You will be compensated with per diem and any overnight stays.
- Working occasional overt-time is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter attitude
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental considerations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings is preferred but not required.
