About the Role: We are looking for an Electrical Automation Controls Engineer to join our Fabrics Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for electrical controls design, software design, and specification development in addition to working on projects to add new equipment, modifying existing equipment to improve yield, reliability, etc, and supporting daily operations through troubleshooting; both as a project leader and core team member.This role will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.Pay and Benefits:$83,000.00 - $141,000.00 per yearFactors considered in extending an offer within this pay range include (but not limited to) education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilitiesMedical, Dental and Vision benefits effective on Day 1 of employment! More details are available at www.gore.com/careers/benefitsResponsibilities: Lead and work with cross-functional project teams to modify/upgrade existing equipment, add new manufacturing equipment, and support equipment needs for R&DPerform electrical design and hands-on support for process equipment (e.g., drives, programmable logic controller [PLC] logic programming, human-machine interfaces [HMIs], wiring schematics, power systems, instrumentation, and motor control systems)Understand and provide input to the asset life cycle and obsolescence strategyWork closely with vendors on the design and purchase of new equipment and modification to existing systemsCreate and update specifications, software, electrical, and documentationDevelop and complete process equipment validations and documentation including the use of Quality Management SystemsProvide field supervision of contractors for installation of new equipmentWork closely and partnering with shop associates as a resource for electrical expertise including troubleshooting equipment breakdowns Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school or related degree (Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology) with a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with hands on experience in industrial control systems (PLC, HMI, drives, and industrial networks)Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and machine safety practicesExperience developing and modifying electrical schematicsDemonstrated ability to lead, prioritize, and complete multiple technical projects and daily tasks while working within and influencing a cross-functional teamDemonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical ideas and concepts with technical and non-technical audiences (written and verbal)Ability and desire to work in a hands-on manufacturing environmentAbility to clear Pulmonary Sensitizer Chemical Risk Environment requirementAbility to travel 5-10% based on project needs (U.S., Europe, Asia, etc)Desired Qualifications: Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawing experience to generate schematics, 3D electrical panel layouts, and other documentationWorking knowledge of electrical code and standards for industrial equipment designWorking knowledge and understanding of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)What We Offer: Our success is based on the capability and creativity of our Associates, and we are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards program that supports your everyday and helps you build your tomorrow.We provide benefits that offer choice and flexibility and promote overall well-being.
