Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Electrical Engineer to work in our Canonsburg, PA office. The hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Electrical Engineer will report to the Director of Electrical Engineer Controls and will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, an effective communicator, a relationship builder, and able to work within a team environment. This candidate also may be required to travel occasionally.

Job Description:

* Review project inquiry specifications for process and analytical instrumentation for use in water treatment plants and preparing/compiling clarifications/exceptions to specifications.

* Perform calculations for electrical equipment installation and design (including MCC sizing, switchgear, power transformers, and power cabling) and PLC/HMI-based control systems used in prominent water treatment technologies (including demineralizers, softeners, ultrafiltration, and R.O. plants);

* Prepare competitive cost estimates for the instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment proposed for the project.

* Resolve technical issues with internal and external customers requiring compliance with North American standards (including NEMA, UL, CSA) and/or international standards (including IEC, ATEX, CE).

* Review project inquiries and specifications to perform proposal preparation or installation/commissioning of process and analytical instrumentation for use in water treatment plants.

* Prepare preliminary design/selection of Electrical and Instrumentation and control system equipment.

* Prepare Electrical and Controls design plans for execution, and (viii) designing and engineering both in hardware (such as PLC-based system control) and software using PLC and HMI.

* Proposal preparation or installation/commissioning of electrical equipment (including MCC, switchgear, power transformers, and power cabling) and PLC/HMI-based control systems used in prominent water treatment technologies (including demineralizers, softeners, ultra filtration, and R.O. plants)

* Proposal preparation or installation/commissioning of process and analytical instrumentation for use in water treatment plants.

* Developing or troubleshooting of PLC and HMI software for industrial processes.

Skill Requirements:

* International standards (including IEC, ATEX, CE) and North American standards (including NEMA, UL, CSA) for electrical and control system design.

* Familiar with the implementation of process instrumentation and control systems, electrical engineering as applicable to power/process industries

* Experience in design & engineering with PLC / HMI including programming or DCS & control system design.

* Experience in power or petroleum or process industries

* Must be able to read Instrumentation/ Electrical /Control System drawings and P&IDS.

* Ability to communicate effectively with customers/suppliers.

* Maintain a positive attitude and good organizational skills.

* Capability to work in a team environment.

* Willingness to work extra hours when a situation requires.

* Ability to plan and manage multiple projects.

* Ability to apply common sense understanding, carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram forms.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Proficiency in using MS Office

* Attention to detail.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

* Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering (or foreign equivalent)

* Two (2) years of experience in a similar position or a directly related position in the water treatment industry required.
