Position Description:
The Electrical Controls Assembly and Test Department Lead is responsible for ensuring that the department is meeting all KPI's with regards to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity. The Electrical Controls Test Department is responsible for completing final assembly on large format air makeup units and completing a full end to end functional test. The lead for the area must be capable of troubleshooting panels/equipment, prioritizing workload based on the production schedule, and working with engineering to improve processes / procedures. In addition, general electrical and mechanical aptitude, and the ability to train employees in all positions / tasks within the process is required.
- Coaches and trains the entire Electrical Controls Assembly and Test team on safe work methods and environment
- Manages workloads for all employees to guarantee execution to the production schedule
- Ability to organize department needs and clearly communicate with other department leads to receive parts required to complete work orders on time.
- Leads and coordinates day-to-day activities of the department to ensure KPI's are being met
- Approve time off for the departmental team while ensuring coverage.
- Maintains adequate inventory of material needed to complete Assembly tasks.
- Identifies missing materials needed to complete work orders and communicate need to the appropriate groups to keep production on time.
- Performs quality inspection and ensures quality of electric panels, mechanical subcomponents, and full mechanical assemblies across the department.
- Understands processes required to produce subassemblies and full mechanicals and recommends improvements to continually increase throughput of the department.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 or more years of experience leading a team in a production or mechanical related environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good interpersonal skills.
- Able to read a wiring schematic to enable installation and troubleshooting.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and be able to apply that knowledge to commissioning the panels used on the assemblies.
- Ability to manage time well with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of functioning well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with PLC and motor drive commissioning, desirable.
