Electrical Designer II - Staunton, VA - HybridMake your mark at the world's largest HVAC companyDaikin Applied is seeking an Electrical Designer II who will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage a parts list. Electrical Designer II's will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost has been considered.Location: Hybrid, Staunton, VAWhat you will do:
- Create engineering documentation including SolidWorks, modeling, fabrication and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards
- Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation
- Work with Marketing/Sales to provide documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products to meet weekly production schedules
- Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills.
- Demonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness
- Complete work assignments within the determined time frame and use judgement in determining assignment goals
- Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin products.
- Demonstrate an understanding of legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logic
- Be part of and function in a team environment including cross-functional and inter-departmental teams

Minimum Qualifications:
- Vocational, Technical, or Associate of Applied Science degree in design/drafting
- 2+ years of related design experience
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background or knowledge of electrical
- Experience in sheet metal design and/or HVAC products is desired
- Experience with AutoCAD/DraftSight, SolidWorks Electrical, Microsoft Visio is a plus
