HDR is looking for new or recent electrical engineering graduates to join the Northern California Hydropower Engineering team for exciting project opportunities and to help our clients further their clean energy goals. In the role of Electrical EIT, we'll count on you to:
- Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options or recommendations, engineering document review, drafting review and revision, provide field construction support and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications
- Perform routine electrical engineering assignments that support our hydropower generation clients that require application of standard electrical engineering techniques and procedures across asset management, powerhouses, rotating equipment and field engineering projects
- This role will spend time at generating facilities in support of Engineering, Operations and Maintenance and construction projects across the Sierra Nevada Mountain range between Fresno and Shasta
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
- Perform other duties as needed
The first assignment for the 2 available positions will consist of three rotations (6 months each) where the successful candidates will gain exposure and experience working across a variety of hydropower projects traversing asset management, powerhouses/generating facilities, and other exciting field engineering project opportunities promoting career growth. NOTICE:These 6-month rotational assignments will be in Northern California; including Redding, Burney, Chico, Auburn, Auberry, and/or Fresno. HDR may temporarily relocate individuals to any of these locations for one or more of the 6 month rotations.
*If candidates do not have EIT certification at the time of hire, title of position will be Coordinator. Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
- Takes initiative and is flexible with embracing change in order to accomplish project goals
- Thrives in a team environment and has strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Openness to being mentored by Senior Engineers and Hydropower Subject Matter Experts to support individual growth
- Prior internships/co-op experience in power, utilities, hydropower, renewable energy, and/or construction industries is a plus

Qualifications Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
- Previous internship beneficial
- Strongcomputer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and EasyPower
- Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration
