Position Summary
This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplined environment on a variety of project types and scales. As an electrical engineer you will be responsible for the design of building and site electrical systems. The candidate shall be highly motivated, outgoing, and a resourceful team player to complement our team. This position has excellent growth potential for candidates who will be working with a proven team of engineering professionals. This position would be based out of our Warren, NJ headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Design of electrical systems for life sciences / pharmaceutical / research, multi-family residential, K-12 and higher education, health care, commercial, and industrial facilities, including building power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, and IT/AV systems.
- Use computer aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents, including written specifications.
- Respond to client questions and comments, review contractor submittals, and provide clarifications during construction.
- Review drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards.
- Communicating with other disciplines to ensure project documents are properly coordinated.
Qualifications:
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain is highly preferred.
- B.S. In Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- 5+ years building design experience with consulting architectural/engineering firm designing building power, lighting, and fire alarm systems; knowledge of communications, security, and IT/AV is a plus.
- Fluent in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, or similar software.
- Thorough understanding of the architectural and engineering industry, including the applicable building codes, Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that pertain to the industry.
- Some travel is required to meet project and training requirements.
