Job Description I am recruiting for a Manufacturing Company in need of a qualified Electrical Engineer. Job Summary: The Electrical Engineer manages and leads system level (i.e., suspension, chassis, electrical, powertrain, etc.) design, development, and testing for UTVs. This position requires a solid understanding of mechanics, strength of materials, knowledge in a variety of manufacturing processes, and the ability to design and prototype products. Duties and Responsibilities
- Design cost effective, innovative, manufactured products using sketches, presentations, advanced Solid Modeling, and other applicable specifications. Determine requirements and/or feasibility of the component.
- Perform all necessary evaluations and calculations such as stress analysis, performance analysis, product quality, durability and acceptability to various industry and company standards.
- Build and direct efforts on fabrication of prototype products, including ability to fabricate, weld, test and evaluate products.
- Coordinate transition to manufacturing and product launch through management of production ready deliverables such as BOM's, work instructions, etc.
- Advise, direct, and train less senior staff as required and utilize the surrounding skills for project advancement.
- Prepare technical data such as qualification test procedures, acceptance test procedures, reports, component maintenance personuals, etc.
- Perform liaison function between engineering and all manufacturing operations for any related issues, problems, or improvements.
- Interact with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing/design issues and implement cost reduction ideas regarding company products.
- Work with the quality department to define problem areas and implement product improvements based on customer repair/rejection concerns.
- Interact with customers on engineering design and any questions/problems they may have.
- Interact with vendors concerning parts they supply or propose to supply to company.
- Coordinate as required with internal groups including purchasing, quality control, sales, accounting, and customer service.
Education and Experience
- Required: BS ME/MET EE/EET engineering degree.
- Required: Minimum 5 years' experience.
- Specific experience in Electric Vehicles, vehicle electrical wire harness and components.
- Powersport/Automotive experience preferred.
