This role is part of our technical career ladder, reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent for Lockport Operations.Responsibilities:
  • Drive continuous improvement in electrical power systems, controls, motors, drives, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment.
  • Support Maintenance, continuous improvement, training, daily operations, and electrical safety.
  • Lead Major Maintenance and Capital projects.
  • Analyze challenges and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Apply engineering principles to enhance operating efficiency of automation systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for process control models and strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise for capital projects, process evaluation, and modifications.
  • Ensure regular development and maintenance of process documentation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering.
  • 5+ to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with maintenance perspective on heavy industrial equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with motor control centers, PLC's, static drives, electro/mechanical devices, and power distribution.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and decision-making skills in collaboration with union employees.
  • Exposure to Automation, Programming, or control systems theory.
  • Support of process control systems, including Rockwell and HMI packages.
  • Understanding of Drive control theory and operation.
  • Experience with intelligent motor control centers (e.g., Siemens Simocode and AS-i).
  • Leadership in continuous process improvement initiatives with diverse teams.
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical system integration.
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting process problems using data archive and analysis tools.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with internal and external customers.
  • Independent work ability with high motivation and organizational capabilities.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office.
