job summary: An Electrical Engineer is needed for an American defense, aviation, information technology, and biomedical research company in the Vista, CA area. This position will collaborate on developing advanced X-ray security equipment, focusing on PLC-based control systems, circuit design, and sustaining engineering while working closely with a cross-functional team. location: Vista, California job type: Contract salary: $30.59 - 63.54 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: - Work as part of a cross-functional engineering team with Scientists, Mechanical and Software Engineers, and Test Engineers to develop next-generation X-ray based security equipment. - Design PLC-based machine control systems, including circuit design, embedded programming, motion control, and power distribution. - Perform sustaining engineering of existing products, including obsolescence issues and feature changes/updates. - Design printed circuits and direct PCB layout, fabrication, and assembly. - Produce Engineering documentation such as design specifications, interface control documents, schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material. - Troubleshoot existing and new designs down to the component level, performing root cause analysis. qualifications:
