The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, installation and improvements of facility utilities and equipment to help ensure the highest level of performance from all electrical components.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo Perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.
- Design, develop, install and make improvements to facility equipment.
- Apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
- Direct and coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
- A strong working knowledge of NEC 70 and NFPA 70E codes and their application.
- Assist in developing capital project designs and budgets for new equipment and major repairs.
- Recommend alterations through development of designs to improve quality of products and/or procedures and report to management, considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
- Prepare specifications for purchase or materials and equipment and/or the solicitations of labor. Manage contractors, consultants and other project team members as necessary to execute projects.
- Oversee project management and technical activities of team members and offer administrative and technical guidance as needed.
- Oversee project construction efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
- Plan layout of electric power generating infrastructure, distribution lines, transmission lines and substations as well as feeders, branch circuit wiring, and controls.
- Identify and resolve root causes of electrical problems, including equipment, machine, and material related issues. Complete repairable parts assessments and repairs promptly, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency about solving problems.
- Ensure equipment is kept in working condition and electrical breakdowns are fixed promptly. Look for potential problems and offer workable solutions to prevent them.
- Evaluate and train Qualified Persons per NFPA 70E and Company Electrical Safety Policy.
- Train shift maintenance and setup technicians in electrical best practices.
- Identify waste and inefficiencies and suggest workable solutions and improvement ideas. Look for ways to improve efficiency and suggest improvement ideas.
- Accurately report and track preventative maintenance activities.
- Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness.
- Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.
- Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.
- Oversee project management and technical activities of team members and offer administrative and technical guidance as needed. Supervise team members in a manner that enables growth and success through feedback, training, and encouragement.
- Establish performance expectations for team members and provide regular feedback and performance reviews to ensure that team members understand how their job duties support the company's mission and have the right tools/resources to do their jobs well. Ensure that team members follow company policy, and create a safe work environment by encouraging safe practices and by promptly and positively resolving violations or accidents.
- Design and manage projects within area of specialization. Accept responsibility for efforts of team members. Participate as needed in projects of team members, including attending and contributing to project meetings and reviews, and assisting with scope definition and stakeholder management.
- Monitor and control human and financial resources in area of responsibility for maximum benefit to the organization. Identify, develop, and implement means of improving efficiency and quality of efforts in area of responsibility.
- Develop familiarity with all technical specialties within area of responsibility.
- Communicate with management and others within the organization to represent interests of area of responsibility. Act as a technical consultant on matters within area of specialization.
- Perform root cause analysis of productivity problems and make recommendations to improve plant productivity.
- Continually evaluate processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency. Establish and document standard operating procedures and ensure the team is adhering to them. Drive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness. Understand and apply lean manufacturing tools and methodology to lead team in continuous improvement activities.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location. Travel to vendor locations and to all Highline-Warren facilities to perform essential duties and responsibilities, including overnight stays.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONSAn individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:
- Associate's degree in electrical engineering or related field and at least 3 years related experience or equivalent or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
- Electrical license preferred.
- Safe and proper use of hand/Power tools and application knowledge are required.

- Ascend/descend stairs/ladders to access mezzanine level.
- Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels and have the ability to exchange detailed information.
- Move about in a warehouse and manufacturing facility to observe and effectively communicate with team members and perform job duties.
- Visually recognize colors when working with electrical wiring.
