Electrical Engineer

An expanding electronic contract manufacturer in Mount Holly, North Carolina is seeking an individual for the Electrical Engineering position.

We are searching for an experienced Electrical Engineer (electromechanical) to provide strong technical support in the manufacturing of electronic/electrical designs to meet customer specifications, including some or all of the following; component selection, technical support for PWBs and electromechanical control panel assemblies. This position will also be required to supervise day-to-day engineering projects to ensure the manufacturing implementation of projects in a timely manner. This position will also interface with customers, suppliers and manufacturing teams to meet customer product needs.

Job Requirements

  • Provide electronic and electrical engineering (electromechanical) principles for projects
  • Reviews and evaluates customer product specifications, test specifications, product assembly and creates documentation to support
  • Establish bill of material for quoting and final manufacturing
  • Design review for manufacturing focused at improving safety, product quality, process efficiencies, cost reduction and reduction of waste.
  • Provide technical support for ICT, functional, etc. testing.
  • Monitor projects to ensure timely technical implementation
  • Provide engineering support for manufacturing with diagnosis of product failures
  • Assist in other functional areas as needed.

Education and/or Experience/Skills

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred), along with a minimum of three years recent applicable work experience in electronic and electromechanical assembly designs.
  • Working knowledge of IPC workmanship standards, including IPC-610 preferred.
  • Working knowledge of UL508.
  • Ability to work in a team-based culture, interacting and effectively communicating with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing departments.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma tools and techniques preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO9000 standards and practices.
  • Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CAD. Printed circuit board layout software experiences a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
