Job DetailsJob Location Houston - Corporate Office - Houston, TX Description ENG (ENG) is a 40 year old publicly listed (NASDAQ:ENG) EPF contractor (Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication) focused on innovative delivery of, cost-effective solutions. ENGs expertise reaches traditional hydrocarbon and sustainable energy markets including: Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Energy & Renewables, Government, Automation & Integration. Services include EPF/ C(m) (Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Construction (Management)) projects that are largely completed internally. The Electrical Engineer's primary function of responsibility is the development of electrical systems and projects from inception through construction and start-up in the Midstream Oil and Gas Industries. This position in particular will need to have experience in utility/power distribution. Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Designs medium/high voltage electrical systems
- Experience with synchronous motors
- Experience controlling in-rush currents with large motors
- Responsible for content and quality of electrical designs
- Supervises junior Electrical Engineers
- Supervises Electrical Designers
- Maintains Professional Engineering Certifications as required
- Develops and designs electrical power systems for process plants
- Evaluates existing systems and component capabilities by analyzing systems utilizing engineering software.
- Develops and designs modifications to existing power systems to correct deficiencies.
- Prepares and presents arc-flash studies to client utilizing current available state of the art software. Ie: E-Tap or SKM
- Responsible for reviewing and checking detailed design drawings and documents prior to issue in order to ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness of design packages.
- Supervises the work of others within the department to ensure high quality, accurate, complete, code-compliant designs.
- Analyzes and reviews existing progress metrics for the electrical Engineering and Design Group.
- Develops new metrics to document deliverables not currently covered by existing metrics.
- Communicates requests for change to project manager in order to ensure electrical group works within and maintains their budget on all projects.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
QualificationsDesired / Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in utility/power distribution is required
- Midstream Oil and Gas experience preferred
- 10+ years' industry experience
- Experience in Arc Flash Software: ie: E-Tap or SKM
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited university
- Minimum 10 years' experience
- P.E. certification required
