Electrical Engineer, Water/Wastewater (Hybrid)ms consultants, inc.Indianapolis, IN; Pittsburgh, PA; Akron, Cleveland, Columbus, Youngstown, OHms consultants, inc. is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in either one of our Ohio offices (Akron, Cleveland, Youngstown, or Columbus), or Indianapolis, IN office or our Pittsburgh, PA office.The successful candidate will support the Water practice area by serving on project teams planning and designing water and wastewater focused infrastructure for public works and privately owned projects. We are looking for someone who has water/wastewater process and treatment design experience or comparable experience. Help us help improve our communities, one drop at a time!What You'll Do:Reporting to our Process and Controls Technical Service Manager, you will work with many different ms team members within the company.The primary focus of the role will be leading design production with a team of drafters and engineers. The job requires the individual to take responsibility of the technical content of various building and treatment facility projects and manage the project tasks with assistance from the Technical Service Manager. The role will include the electrical design of Water and Wastewater Treatment systems including, pumps, motors, blowers, conveyors, SCADA systems, automation and controls, and other electrical aspects related to the water business unit.Specific responsibilities include:Plan production for industrial (water/wastewater) and environmental facilities utilizing AutoCAD and Revit software.Preliminary calculations to support design decisions within low voltage power distribution, medium voltage power distribution, lighting, controls, instrumentation, and fire alarm systems.Coordination of design elements with other in-house disciplines, including architecture, structures, environmental, site civil, and landscape design.Candidates should have a desire to learn all aspects of Electrical engineering, if not already exposed to all of the elements above.Define equipment, layout, and protection requirements for new and retrofit distribution stations in accordance with all applicable industry codes and standards.Must be able to interpret customer requirements and develop appropriate distribution station plans and specifications.What You'll Bring:BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university preferred, or equivalent working experience.Professional Engineer (PE) licenseWorking knowledge of, power distribution (low and medium voltage), standby power systems, instrumentation, controls, lighting, and fire alarm systems.Prior experience in Water and Wastewater treatment preferred, but not required.Familiarity with ICC, NEC, NFPA building codes, LEED building standards.Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit design software.Proficient with MS office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook.Why Choose ms consultants?We are proud to be an award-winning engineering, architecture, planning and environmental consulting firm, annually ranking within ENR's Top 500 Design Firms.
