Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:The Electrical Engineering Co-Op students will take part in projects that cover all phases of the New Product Development (NPD) process from early conception to prototype development.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Tests electrical appliances to collect data for use in system designs.
  • Completes electrical specification documents as per component tests.
  • Works with team members to create the specifications for the electrical system design.
  • Creates 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) models for electrical components.
  • Generates 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of the electrical system and components.
  • Conducts bench top electrical tests to collect data.
  • Works with Electrical Engineering to develop electrical systems.
  • Uses electrical tools such as O-Scopes, Multi-Meters, Power Supplies.
  • Participates in design reviews.
  • Works with cross-functional team members.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Enrolled in a four-year degree majoring in either Electrical Engineering or Electrical Design
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering
  • Experience: Junior or senior level design students
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional team members
  • 2D and 3D CAD programs
  • AutoCAD, Zuken, E3, or Catia 3D software, preferred
  • Skills required to use bench top electrical test equipment
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position is located within a comfortable office environment at White River Marine Group Headquarters in Springfield, MO. Projects may be co-located in a manufacturing plant and may involve frequent liaison trips to plants or local lakes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regular computer work and sitting
  • Occasional walking, and standing
  • Seldom lifting up to 50lbs
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
