Additional information can be found at www.ttm.com Position Summary: Responsible for managing the Communications product line Electrical Engineering department activities. Manage, engineers, technicians and other personnel involved in the design and development of Communications engineering projects. Manage direct and indirect reports to ensure both internal and external customers are satisfied with the development and delivery of products and services. Leads the research, development, design, and test of hardware/firmware components, equipment and systems. Provides analysis related to the design, development and implementation. Monitor and support programs and projects to the extent needed to ensure the requirements, budgets and schedules are being met. Develop and promote a rigorous engineering discipline and a culture of following best practices. Manage multiple personnel-related activities including interviewing, employee relations, department relations, training, and performance development. Duties and Responsibilities: Projects: Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules or resolve technical problems Ensure group staffing requirements are managed and reported. Responsibility for project results, including costs, methods and staffing Define and monitor staff activities as needed to meet program commitments and goals. Ensure technical risk is identified and managed. Interfaces with other engineering organizations to coordinate Electrical Engineering activities. Interfaces with the customer on engineering centric items such as SRR, PDR, CDR etc. Process: Ensure adherence of group to existing Electrical Engineering processes. Participates in Departmental and company process development and improvement. Proposals: Generate departmental cost estimates as inputs to customer proposals. Participate in the annual estimation calibration Management: Direct and Mentor other Electrical Engineers. Ensure that staff skills are developed to appropriate level for assigned tasks. Provide performance appraisals for assigned engineers Participates in developing departmental budgets Administers career development plans for assigned engineers Conducts performance reviews Job Knowledge and skills: Demonstrated team building and leadership skills. Strong understanding of engineering technical issues, problem solving abilities and decision-making skills. Ability to analyze the data and conduct structured problem solving. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Work with other engineering disciplines, including a high level of customer interface.
