Electrical Engineering Technician
Pay Rate: 40-50 per hour

Job Summary:
This position is to be a senior electronics technician for PCB test. This position involves troubleshooting system and PCBA issues to the component level. Diagnostic tools such as LabVIEW, and JTAG tests are used for testing and troubleshooting. High speed oscilloscopes, DMM's, power supplies and custom test fixtures are also used during the test process.
Should have worked in an engineering or senior level technician environment. Expected to be able to understand circuit analysis and solve component level problems with minimal support.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Spends 50-75% of time adding value directly to product by testing/troubleshooting to the component level.
- Performs setup, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of complex electronic circuits, components and electro-mechanical assemblies using company approved test procedures.
- Works with Test Engineering to create, document and verify test fixtures and procedures.
- Update/create test procedures and formalize them for ECO approval.
- Investigate repetitive circuit problems to root cause and recommend corrective action.
- Analyze failures returned from the production floor and customer service to determine root cause – keep the inventory in PCB test to the minimal level.
- Determine if additional PCBA testing is required, based on the failures seen.
- Daily production floor technical support when required on system or PCB issues.
- Perform other duties as required.
Must Have
- Associates Degree in a technical field and 2-3 years related experience or a minimum of 5 years as technician in similar environment.
- Must have experience testing and troubleshooting PCBA's to the component level using basic electronic test equipment.
- Must have a good understanding of basic electronic theory w/ ability to read schematics, assembly drawings and other PCBA related build documents.
- Must have a good understanding of electronic components operation such as voltage regulators, A/D's, FET's, DSP's, memories, and FPGA's.
- Must be able to troubleshoot, rework and repair surface mount assemblies to the component level.
- IPC J-STD-001 solder certification preferred.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills with ability to create and validate test procedures using MS Office suite.
Nice To Have
- Experience working with JTag/Boundary Scan test and debug methodology is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with National Instruments test solutions is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of video processing and imaging electronics is preferred.
