Overview:

We are looking for a talented Electrical Estimator to join an energetic team in the electrical construction sector. This role is ideal for someone with a strong passion for electrical work and hands-on experience in commercial, industrial, and large multi-family residential projects. As an Electrical Estimator, you'll oversee the estimating process from start to finish, collaborating closely with project teams and clients to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the complete electrical estimating process, ensuring estimates are thorough, timely, and precise.
  • Perform detailed takeoffs, applying appropriate labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Analyze project bid documents, including plans, specifications, and all addenda related to each estimate.
  • Utilize historical project data, subcontracts, and productivity reports to refine unit costs and labor hour estimates.
  • Ensure estimates are organized, complete, and prepared for review before deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit detailed proposals and bids to clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project needs.
  • Evaluate and negotiate bids from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Participate in project meetings to support the project team with estimating insights.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of electrical costs and pricing.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in electrical estimating with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and changing demands.
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $10K to $15M.
  • Proficiency in preparing conceptual budgets, plans/specifications, and design/build estimates.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple estimates simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of electrical codes and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial, industrial, and large multi-family residential projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software (experience with Conest & Surecount preferred).
