Role Overview:
As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will plan, coordinate, and supervise the construction estimating team. Your responsibilities will include assisting sales and division managers in project bidding, developing bid strategies, reviewing final estimates, presenting to corporate management and clients, providing technical assistance for contracts, and maintaining the estimating database.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist sales managers and division managers in project selection and bidding
- Develop project-specific bid strategies and techniques
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of final estimates before formal quotation
- Present estimates to corporate management and clients
- Provide assistance for close orders and technical support in negotiating contracts and change orders
- Review and improve estimating procedures and practices
- Engage in talent acquisition and development
- Maintain current estimating database and manage software updates
- Collaborate with fabrication and operations to track time studies for prefabrication
Qualifications:
- Electrical engineering degree
- Experience in estimating commercial electrical projects
- Proven experience in estimating and bidding on electrical projects exceeding $6M (single project)
- In-depth understanding of electrical equipment, techniques, drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing computerized cost data
- Knowledgeable in Accubid estimating software or similar (training provided)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant technology
- Excellent communication skills to interact diplomatically with teammates and external customers
