Job Description:

Electrical Code Inspector – Uranium Processing Facility (UPF)

We seek a qualified Electrical Code Inspector to join our team at the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) Construction organization. In this role, you will ensure NFPA 70-2014 compliance and contribute to a world-class construction project.

Key Requirements:

  • Certification: Candidates must hold a current ICC E2 or IAEI General Code Inspector certification. No exceptions.
  • Eligibility: U.S. citizenship is mandatory. Candidates must provide proof of citizenship and meet all security clearance requirements, including completing a security questionnaire and site access checks.
  • Compliance: All employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment.
  • Security: Must be able to obtain a security clearance, if applicable.

About the Role:

As a Construction Electrical Field Engineer/Electrical Code Inspector, you will bring your specialized expertise to the UPF project. You will ensure all electrical-based commodities adhere to project standards, safety protocols, and quality expectations. This position demands a strong understanding of construction engineering practices and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

Work Planning & Packaging:

  • Develop and prepare construction drawings, sketches, and schedules.
  • Design temporary construction facilities and ensure the preparation of as-built drawings and job plans.

Material Management:

  • Initiate requisitions for field-purchased materials and equipment.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and ensure accurate documentation.

Quantity Verification:

  • Verify commodities in quantity tracking systems or other databases as required.

Safety & Quality Control:

  • Enforce a zero-accident philosophy by ensuring tools, equipment, and procedures adhere to safety standards.

Technical Oversight:

  • Demonstrate a proactive commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

System Turnover Coordination:

  • Understand system and area scoping to develop comprehensive package documentation.

Subcontract Coordination:

  • Review and approve inspection test plans.
  • Coordinate and review subcontractor submittals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 8-10 years of relevant experience OR 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
  • Certifications & Technical Skills:
  • Current ICC “Commercial” or IAEI “General” certification (proof required).
  • Expertise in NFPA 70-2014 and knowledge of DOE, DOD, and/or commercial nuclear construction projects.
  • Familiarity with Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs) and related Standard Application Programs (SAPs).
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting field drawings and plans, including P&IDs.
  • Additional Skills:
  • Recent commercial nuclear experience at an EPC Project is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance standards for NNSA/DOE projects.
  • Knowledge of the “Zero Accidents” safety program and nuclear quality/commercial practice standards is beneficial.
