Electrical & Instrumentation Technician (E&I) Night Shift (6:45pm - 7:00am) Must work a 12 ¼ hour shift 7 out of every 14 days (Week 1: Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat, Week 2: Sun/Wed/Thur) The availability of overtime on your days off on an as-needed basis. Position Description: The E&I Tech is a member of the maintenance team, with the full support of the department manager and team members, and will be expected to complete all electrical or mechanical work as assigned. This employee will be primarily responsible for troubleshooting, repairs and new installations related to electrical equipment, devices and instrumentation. Key Job Responsibilities & Skills:
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and installation of electrical equipment and instrumentation.
- Assist with locating, diagnosing and repairing electrical and instrumentation malfunctions.
- Inspect and test electrical instruments and equipment as assigned in PMs.
- Install fixtures, motors and other electrical equipment.
- Disassemble malfunctioning instruments, examine and test mechanisms and circuitry for defects.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributive controls, configure controllers for required troubleshooting.
- Assist with planning layouts, running conduit, & wiring for both new and existing installations, while ensuring proper and cohesive labeling of electrical panels, devices and equipment.
- Assist with the management of electrical supplies by reporting quantity shortages and requesting purchases for specific projects.
- Assist team members with non-electrical work as needed or assigned.
- Operate a forklift, skyjack or articulating lift, and obtain and maintain equipment operation certifications.
- Comply with KPC safety standards, e.g. Lockout-Tagout, arc flash, fall protection, PPE.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.

- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, e.g., controllers, transmitters, conduit, starters, etc.
- Do considerable amount of bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting.
- Must be able to climb and work in high places, e.g., from 66' silos, elevated lifts, ladders, etc.
- Work safely around moving and hot machinery and wear protective equipment and clothing as required.
- Must operate conduit bender, pipe threader, hand tools, etc.
- Must be able to work on voltages up to 480 volts.
- Must be able to drive and operate heavy equipment.
- Must be able to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Must be willing to work in extremely hot conditions.
