JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician with Electrical Experience DEPARTMENT: Maintenance REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance POSITION TYPE: Full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm and one (1) weekend every eight (8) weeks. Will be scheduled based on the operational need (rotate shift, standby, on-call). POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for using a variety of tools and equipment to maintain the facilities, grounds and equipment of the Twin Lakes Community campus with primary responsibility for Coble Health Care facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtain work orders received through Worxhub and respond to same in a timely manner. Performing preventative maintenance, repairs and cleaning of buildings and grounds that includes light plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, floor care, carpentry, construction, mechanical, small engine work, painting and plastering. Experience in HVAC, lighting, and minor electrical issues. Performs door Hardware repairs and maintenance. Performs maintenance duties on facility appliances and equipment. Responsible for maintaining records and documents for a Healthcare facility. May preform painting and repair of a variety of facilities. Will be required to set up and take down furniture for meetings and other gatherings Requires climbing, walking, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, kneeling, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds. Provides training and direction to other maintenance employees as required. Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring Ability to visually identify color coded wiring correctly Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings. Install conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables. Ensure piping complies with electrical codes. Install circuit breakers and other electrical hardware including transformers and connects wiring to them. Connect electrical systems to power lines to provide electricity to the building. Test electrical systems to ensure proper installation, operation and to diagnose and report electrical problems. Inspect electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed. Replace conduit and wiring as needed. Replace circuit breakers as needed. Use a variety of industry-specific tools as well as hand and power tools, to perform their tasks, including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, cable testers and other diagnostic equipment. Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams Adhere to state and local building regulations Complete work orders on time Create records of materials used Set up and test computer systems by running cables and connecting computer jacks and plugs Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant it using good judgement and ethical conduct. Able to perform job duties and work independently with frequent interruptions Reports all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident reactions to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Responds and reacts in a kind, polite, and professional manner to residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervision. Responsible for protecting any confidential information concerning residents, family, and/or the organization. Must demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to all Safety procedures and facility Fire, Disaster, and Threat procedures. Adheres to all organizational, departmental, and nursing procedures in the performance of position responsibilities. Must attend organizational or departmental conferences and/or in-services as scheduled. May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- Two-year technical degree in HVAC or electrical maintenance is preferred.
- Completion of formal apprenticeship and valid electrical license required
- One or more years of experience in building maintenance preferred. This will include: HVAC, lighting, minor electrical, plumbing, door hardware and general maintenance/repairs.
- WorkxHub experience or training will be required.
- Completion of continuing education necessary to maintain electrical license.
