Paper Mill.Basic Qualifications: The position requires a minimum age of 18High School diploma or GEDWork any assigned shift, including weekends, holidays, and overtimeAt least two years of full or part-time work in the last four yearsAbility to read, write, and speak in EnglishSatisfactory completion of background check and drug screen. Applicants will be required to have one of the following: A diploma from a technical college in industrial electrical or instrument maintenance.Three years of service in the field of electrical or instrument maintenance.Three years of military service in the field of electrical or instrument maintenance.Completed a comparable certified E&I Maintenance Apprentice Program. Tests and Board Interview:Those selected to go through the PCA hiring process will be asked to take a series of five written tests and take part in a structured board interview.The five written tests are all timed and involve: Basic mechanical principlesBasic arithmetic skillsThe ability to visualize three-dimensional figuresThe ability to compare numbers or patterns quickly and accuratelyBasic verbal ability The interview will be conducted by a four-person board and involves a review of each candidate's: Work historyAchievements and accomplishmentsKnowledge and skill acquisitionInterpersonal skills and helpfulnessTask-related likes and dislikesPhysical demands experienced on previous jobs All applicants will be tested for the following criteria following the interview prior to being considered for a full-time offer: Electrical aptitudeInstrument aptitudeBasic skills mathBasic Electrical knowledge placementBasic Instrument knowledge placement Principle Accountabilities: Work with key mechanical, electrical, and process personnel to support daily and monthly maintenance outages as well as annual outage jobs.Complete necessary programs and training, as indicated in the Electrical Maintenance Apprentice Program.Utilize predictive and preventative electrical programs to identify and correct equipment issues.Complete assigned work for daily, monthly, and annual outages.Perform other responsibilities as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred. The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints.Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills.Ability to independently make sound decisions through creative problem-solving.Ability to read and understand technical correspondence, memos, instructions, and reports.Ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety.
