What Will I Do In This Role?
* Follow established safe work practices to ensure a safe working environment.
* Check and troubleshoot electrical devices, panels, motors, controllers, relays, motor starter, etc., to identify faults and malfunctions and to correct electrical problems mainly on production equipment in an effort to return this equipment to service as quickly and safely as possible.
* Use a variety of testing equipment such as volt/ohm/amp meters, signal tracers and other test equipment commonly used in the electrical trades.
* Make repairs or correct problems with machinery to keep machines in operation via verbal or written instructions.
* Install, repair, maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyors, gears and gear ratios, pulleys and belts. Disassemble, move, install, align and put into operation new and used machines and equipment.
* Operate a forklift, high lift and other powered equipment that will be used to lift or transport equipment or personnel during the course of employment.
* Understand and practice the Company's Lockout/Tagout program to include the controlled shut-down and start-up of any production equipment that he or she must service.
* Read and interpret wiring diagrams and basic electrical prints.
* Perform changeovers to department machinery in a quick and accurate fashion
What Skills Do I Need?
* Must be able to read, write and perform simple mathematical functions
* Must have acquired technical or specialized skills normally associated with a training program of less than two years'' duration beyond successful completion of high school or equivalent. 0-1 years'' work experience in the Maintenance and Electronic trades. Mig, Arc, Plasma and Oxy-acetylene welding required
* Proven complex diagnostic skills and trouble shooting in mechanical and electrical trades required
* Forklift certification needed - will certify
* Ability to distinguish basic colors used to identify wires and cables
