Onsite in Houston, TX Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is required for this position . The Electrical Power Systems Engineer will:
- Ensure requirements are satisfied by the software design solutions by reading pseudo-code and functions
- Have system level EPS experience and be knowledgeable of flight software
- Be involved in algorithm making
- Understand and review test results from EPS/Software testing (results look code-like)
- Perform other duties as required
Education - Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possess 5 - 10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.
Technical (EPS & Software) - System Level EPS experience required - Knowledge of electrical systems engineering principles
- (NASA) Flight software experience required - Knowledge of software engineering principles
- C programming experience
- Experience with (spacecraft) power systems
- Demonstrate problem-solving background with accompanying troubleshooting skills
Professional - Proficient with MS Office and MS Teams (for virtual meetings)
- Excellent communication skills (in person and in writing)
- Be a self-starter who doesn't require a lot of hand holding
- Ability to communicate effectively across different teams
- Experience fostering a collaborative team environment
- Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules
- Must be willing to work onsite at Johnson Space Center
Requisition Preferences:
- BS degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering and at least 5-10 years of experience (EN3/EN4/ESS).
- Some Simulink/Matlab experience preferred
- Some knowledge of Time Triggered Ethernet a plus
- NASA/Space experience preferred
- Knowledge of commonly used NASA concepts, practices, processes, and procedures
- System requirements analysis
